Favourite: Mascara!

Hello! Long time no speak! I've been on holiday hence the lack of posts. I've decided that I want to do a few mini posts about some of my favourite products and I thought I'd start with mascara!

After being away and using a new mascara (waterproof, for the pool!) I've realised how much I really love a certain mascara and never want to use another one ever again! I've been using L'Oreal Telescopic for a long time now, I've had one or two tubes of the original and I just bought my third tube of the False Lash Telescopic which is my ultimate favourite. I've said it before that I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for, I still stand firm on this with the exception of mascaras, I really rate drug store mascaras and do believe you can get a really decent one for under £10. I've tried so many mascaras and normally I like to get a different one every time I run out but I think I will stick with this one for a long time to come, I love it!

This is what the mascara looks like, the packaging is really pretty, the normal telescopic has a gold tube and the False Lash has a silver, I prefer this one! I love the brush with this mascara and I do think it's a brush that really makes a mascara brilliant, it's shaped so that it captures all the lashes instead of just the central, more prominent ones. I really like that the tip of this brush the way it's slightly pointed captures the outer lashes and really extends them quite easily making the eyes look a lot bigger. I prefer combs to brushes as well as I find you can work much better with them and really get the result you are looking for. Since the comb mascaras really took off, with things like Rimmel Sexy Curves which at the time I thought was a revelation, this has definitely got to be the best I've tried.

The picture above, left to right on top then left to right on bottom, shows the stages of applying more layers to the eye using this mascara. I hate mascaras that you can only apply one layer with, where they dry quickly or become clumpy, it's a huge pet hate of mine. This mascara is so build-able, top left is a picture of my eye with no mascara on, I do have naturally mid-long lashes but it doesn't show too well in this picture unfortunately. They are also light brown in colour so I use a black to really make them stand out. As you can see from the top right picture one coat makes a big difference and sometimes if I'm not feeling great or really don't have time for make up, this, and a pump of foundation, are my go-to products. This mascara really opens up and brightens the eyes and just makes them look a lot more feminine. The bottom left photo is two coats of mascara, I usually do one coat on one eye then alternate, and the time it takes me to do one eye is enough time to let the mascara on the other eye go a bit tacky and the right consistency to add another layer, too wet and you'll just make them too thick and spider like and too dry and your lashes will clump and I hate that! It's approximately 10-15 seconds but I've never counted! I think two coats is a good day look, in the picture I am not wearing any eyeliner but when I am this makes my eyes look a bit darker and more defined (and more awake!) which is just what you need getting up at 7am to go to work! The bottom right picture is my eye with three coats of mascara, I don't apply a lot in one coat as I like to make the mascara last me a month or two but I would choose to wear this over false lashes any day, they look dark and big and I love it!

I honestly rate this mascara so much and want everyone to try it! Another great thing is that it comes off so easily, something you would't think about when buying a mascara but something that is also a huge bonus, I hate mascaras that stick to your lashes like glue and take a half hour of tugging to get it off, this comes off in the shower with just water if I use enough of it, but don't be put off, it'll withstand a few tears. If you're looking for a new mascara then try this one, it's THE BEST!
